As of February 29, 2024, the UAE’s Advance Cargo Information (ACI) program, developed by the National Advance Information Centre (NAIC), requires advance cargo information for goods imported, exported or in transit through the UAE.
As of this date, Harmonized Commodity Codes must be added to all air waybills (MAWB and HAWB) during the transit of goods.
The Harmonized Commodity Codes must be included on the documents according to the type of shipment:
For Consolidated Shipments, where the cargo is associated with more than one House Waybill, the Hscode must be mentioned on them.
For Direct Shipments, where the shipment is associated with a Master Waybill; the operator must send the HScode on the Master Waybill.
